Thing to remember - this is a principle from complex systems theory - is that the actions taken during the collapse strongly impact what happens during the renewal phase.

I don't think we can give into the temptation to shrug and wait to see what happens - the structures driving the collapse have to be dismantled or they'll find a way to mutate into something even more oppressive.

Never underestimate the ability of people with power to retain their influence and produce a new dystopia. If this is the age of crumbling (obviously I argue it is) then the task is to pick targets worth taking down and hit them, hard.

Crack 'em open, take their resources, spread the wealth to people who need it. Build alternatives using the underlying realities of geography American's have never been trained to understand because this country likes to pretend space doesn't matter - only what's mine and yours.
