Addtolist: play video games. Especially role-playing ones set in a different world.
Why? Because rewards and dopamine stimulation come quicker in a world designed for that. And they're evolving into places you can build your own little sub-world.
Which I find actually helps me think about the "real" outer world in a much healthier way.
And slaying some monsters harassing poor villagers is so cathartic.
Total costs? $300 dollar console (from last generation) and $30 game every six months or so.
The less your leisure costs per hour, the less you spend on expensive hollow stuff marketed by personalities.
One way to waste time - and time wasted isn't always wasted time :)
